HIP HOP DANCE PROGRAMSSVS offers hip-hop dance classes for a variety of ages and skill levels in Downtown, Vancouver at the Scotia Bank Dance Centre. Our programs run all year round, 4 volumes per year, and are progressive so that students can build on the choreography from week to week. By the end of the program they will have learned a complete dance routine choreographed to a customized mixed music piece and may have the option of performing at shows and special events.As instructors, our goal is not simply to teach dance moves, but to help each individual discover their own sense of personal style with regard to movement in general. We wish to inspire using the form of freestyling, and through original, unique hip-hop choreography that is challenging yet enjoyable to learn. SVS? mission is to bring out the full potential in all our students when it comes to dance by encouraging creativity, strengthening self-confidence, and promoting self-expression. We do this so that one day they themselves may become the performers, dance teachers, and choreographers of tomorrow. ADVANCED PERFORMANCE-BASED PROGRAM
1. ADVANCED Volume 4/08 DOWNTOWN This is an intensive, accelerated, performance-based program. EXPLICIT/BEGINNER HIP-HOP WORKSHOPS FOR LADIES**no dance experience necessary**(For ladies only 16 yrs & up) Pronunciation: ik-'spli-s&t 1 a : fully revealed or expressed without vagueness, implication, or ambiguity : leaving no question as to meaning or intent Created by SVS choreographers (see profile), EXPLICIT DANCE is a unique form of dance focusing on sexy, soulful, feminine movement, it is the foundation of all of SVS' choreography. In this workshop you'll learn simple, yet practical, grooving techniques incorporated with easy to learn choreography set to a variety of music that is sure to improve your overall sense of personal style on or off the dance floor. Whether you're interested in getting in touch with your feminine instincts when it comes to rhythm, pursuing light exercise, or simply getting your groove back, experienced SVS choreographers will work at your level and guide you every step of the way.
